Pete Williams

If physical size was the only indicator of future athletic success, there would have been no reason for Pete Williams to have even tried. A diminutive man in stature, Pete was a huge influence on hundreds (if not thousands) of HT athletes and students. An extremely energetic and boisterous man, Pete coached four sports for the Hawks, three at the Varsity level. Each of his varsity teams (swimming, gymnastics and softball) garnered championships. In the pool, Pete’s teams won one Colonial Conference and one South Jersey Division B title. In the Spring, his softball teams captured the Colonial title three times, and once won South Jersey Group II crown. However, the bulk of his crowns came in the gym. His gymnastics teams took home 6 league titles and won South Jersey 6 times. Pete retired in 1995 and spends much of his time playing golf. He and his wife Anne continue to live in Haddon Twp.
