Richard C. (Dick) Hardenbergh
One of Haddon Township’s major recreational facilities, the Crystal Lake pool, is named after Richard C. (Dick) Hardenbergh. For many of the same reasons that the pool was named in his honor, Dick is being inducted to the HTHS Hall of Fame. A tireless worker during his twenty-three years as township commissioner, he worked to improve recreational facilities for township youth. He also served as a coach for many years for his children’s athletic teams. One of his admirers described him as being “motivated by his pride in the community and willingness to give of himself. It gave him great satisfaction to be able to help others.” The HTHS Athletic Hall of Fame is pleased to recognize him as a member of the Class of 2004.
