Cubbie Dahl Ingraham Many athletes gain success because of their speed. Others achieve success because of their strength or perhaps for their agility. Cubbie Dahl Ingraham exhibited all of these qualities. As a star on the Hawk track and field teams from 1984-87, Cubbie earned four varsity letters and set school records in the wildly divergent events of 100m hurdles, shot put and long jump. Throughout her career, she was a point machine for Coach Russ Williams and she culminated her senior year by finishing 4th in the shot put, 3rd in the long jump and 1st in the 100m hurdles in the South Jersey Sectional championships. To no one’s surprise, she was named MVP of both the track and the field portions of the squad. Besides her exploits in the spring, Cubbie was a four year letter winner in basketball. She earned numerous honors including a spot on the All Group 2 first team and was named MVP in her senior year. Cubbie continued her athletic success at Western Maryland College where she continued to participate in both sports at a level where she has been nominated for that institution’s Hall of Fame. Since her collegiate graduation she has remained active in athletics in a number of areas including basketball coach, motivational speaker and founder of a walking club. She and her husband, Duncan, reside in Virginia Beach and are the proud parents of daughters Allison and Cara. |
