Rich Hicks

Another person who played a major part in establishing the Hawk wrestling tradition was Rich Hicks. While he also made contributions to the football and baseball teams as a two time Varsity letter winner in each sport, it is as a wrestler that Rich is best remembered. A physically intimidating young man, he used his signature cradle move to dominate his opponents. In both his junior and senior years, Rich captured district and regional titles and both times fell achingly short of a state title, losing in the State final bout. He amassed an impressive 56-8-1 career record and was inducted into the South Jersey Wrestling Hall of Fame in 1991. After a highly successful college career at Trenton State College, he has had coaching stints at Willingboro, Collingswood and Pennsauken. He resides in Berlin, NJ with his wife Karen and they are the proud parents of sons Clinton and Jordan and daughter Averie.
