Megan Kernan

A goal of most South Jersey tennis teams is to defeat the perennially powerful Haddonfield squad. Megan Kernan is one of the rare Hawks who has this achievement on her resume. A three year letter winner (and All conference selectee) for Coach Lorie Foster, Megan moved up in the lineup eventually playing #1 singles in her senior year to help defeat the Bulldogs and lead the team to their third consecutive South Jersey Group I championships. Her tennis skills alone would merit consideration for induction into this Hall of Fame.  But in the winter she was even better. An outstanding diver, she was named all conference in all three years and capped off her career with a second place finish in the New Jersey State Championships. She continued her career with a full scholarship at the University of Wisconsin where her peak was a second place performance in the Big Ten championships in 2000. Following graduation, she entered the work force as a Sales Representative and like Ed Blakely, has returned to New Jersey and lives in Hoboken. Having been to South Africa, Australia and New Zealand, she loves to travel and looks forward to her next overseas adventure.
