Brian Farnham In his long and storied coaching career, Miller Preston coached many outstanding wrestlers. Few however were accomplished as Brian Farnham who made his mark at the weights of 103 and 112 lbs. In the days when the lighter weights wrestled first, Brian would usually give the Hawks an early lead in dual matches. Individually, he twice captured district 29 and Region 7 championships, advancing to the state championships where he narrowly missed the top title, finishing third once and fifth in the other year. For his accomplishments, he was named both years to the All South Jersey teams. But Brian was not a one sport specialist. He also was a leader on Coach Pete Williams’ gymnastic teams, lettering in all four years. His prowess was recognized in this sport too, with him being named to the All South Jersey team in his senior year. College led him to the University of Virginia where he became wrestling team captain in his senior year and was named to the Atlantic Coast Conference Honor Roll for academics in 1993. Following graduation he returned to South Jersey where he has been teaching and coaching wrestling. He currently is the head coach at Kingsway HS and he lives in Clarksboro, NJ with his wife Victoria and daughter Sydney.
